January 2015 Empties!

Welcome Back Naughty Girls!

Isn't it crazy how it is already the end of January. I'm sure that's what everyone's saying but it seriously just blows my mind. Anyways, so I really wanted to do an empties post because although it is weird to save your trash I like the idea of going through what I've used up and letting you know what I think about them. Did I like them? Did I hate them? Would I repurchase? So lets get right into it.

Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel

Now, I'm not picky when it comes to skincare and cleansers but I do believe in investing in the good stuff. I think you really see a difference when you use higher end skincare with better ingredients. I actually got this cleanser a gratis from work and I really did enjoy it. I would use 2-3 pumps of it on my Clarisonic everyday and I feel like it cleared up my tiny little bumps around my chin. I am currently working through another cleanser at the moment because I do think its good to keep switching it up, but I would definitely repurchase.

NYX "Set it Don't Fret it" Matte Finishing Powder

I have a love/hate relationship with this powder. This powder comes in translucent, light, and medium. This specific one was in light and I used it to set my under eye concealer. So, when I used this day to day it looked great but when taking pictures with flash it would give me that dreaded stark white under eye and I've said before that I am not about that life. So unfortunately  I will not be buying this powder again. Womp Womp!

Mally Waterproof Volumizing Mascara

I'm, not big on volumizing mascara, so I didn't use this on myself, but I did use it for weddings. I just needed a waterproof mascara and I had gotten this for gratis. It did its job though so I would repurchase this for my kit.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer

I absolutely adore this concealer. It is just perfect. It's creamy, easy to blend, and covers amazingly. I will repurchase this concealer until the day i die!

B&BW Twilight Woods Fragrance Mist

This is one of my favorite winter scents. It's warm and sexy and I love layering it with Victoria's Secret Angel body spray. Its my perfect combo.

Bare Minerals Multi-Wrinkle Repair

I really enjoyed this little baby sample. This is actually a treatment, like a serum, and I would use this before applying my moisturizer. I couldn't tell you if I saw a significant difference because I feel like with these little samples it's not enough to really see one but I did like it. It made my skin feel hydrated and smooth. the only downside I guess I would say is the scent. it has an organicy type of scent, if that makes any sense. I mean, its not offensive or anything I just didn't prefer it.

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Lip Therapy

I seriously go through chapstick/lip balm like water. Especially now when it's so dry out. I do really like the Vaseline lip balms because I feel like they are thicker than most lip balms so they hydrate more and you don't have to reapply it as often.

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this setting spray. For me a setting spray is crucial at the end of my makeup application and i was so impressed with this. I usually go for the Urban Decay All  Nighter setting spray and that is my holy grail but I can afford the $30 price tag. These, i think, are $11 and I buy them 2 at a time. It helps keep my makeup on and keeps me matte.

Well I hope you enjoyed going through my trash this month. Stay tuned for my next post on my monthly favorites!

Stay Naughty! ;)

Confidence Tip Tuesday! : Start Something ,Quit Something!

Start Something

This week I wanna talk about new beginnings, but not necessarily in some deep metaphorical way. How many times in life do we start things with the intention of making things happen for ourselves and then we give up on it for one reason or another? Because you think it's stupid or you don't feel like its good enough? In my life personally, I've done that a lot. I've said before that I'm an over-thinker. I'd think "What if no one likes it? What if I'm not good enough?" But now when I think back on it, just doing those things and sticking with them would have made me feel good regardless of what others thought. That's what this blog is for me! I've always wanted one and always would second guess myself. But I don't want to second guess myself anymore! Now that I've stuck with it ,even just for this month, makes me feel good about what I'm doing! I love Makeup!  I love talking about makeup! I love sharing my tips, tricks, and knowledge with people! I love letting people know about new products and exciting new collections! People might think that I'm weird because I get way too excited about makeup, but that's just me. That's what gets me excited, and I'm so proud of this blog. Even if no one ever sees it (although it would be nice if they did.lol) because it's mine. Its how I share my love for this stuff. So, I challenge you to stop second guessing yourself and start something for yourself. I know sometimes it's hard but the confidence you get from just starting something and sticking with it is so worth it.

Quit Something

I know we were just talking about starting something and now I'm telling you to quit something, but just hear me out. I'm talking about bad habits. Habits that are destructive to your happiness and to your health. This is important to me because I want to make a conscience effort to be happier, to achieve the goals I have set for myself, to be the woman I want to be in life and negative thoughts and attitudes are not going to get me there. Every day I have affirmations that I say to myself. Stay Positive, You are Enough, Trust Your Talent; Those are just a few of them and they do really help! They help me focus on my goals and help push out negative and overwhelming thoughts.

As for physical health, I am proud to say that I am officially 1 week cigarette free! Now that may not seem like a victory but trust me, it is. I've been smoking for 10 years and I honestly never thought I would quit. I was addicted, I loved everything about them and I know that sounds weird but cigarette smokers know what I mean. I didn't want to give them up. I wasn't ready to. I had no desire. I really just felt that it was time to stop. At this point, I'm really trying to make a change in my life. An allover change. I need it and I feel like this was something that I felt I needed to do. I can say that it hasn't been easy but just knowing that I'm doing it makes me proud.

So really, I guess the message for this week's Confidence Tip Tuesday is really doing things that make you proud of yourself. Set a goal and achieve it! Replace negativity with positive efforts.
There are always obstacles and personal struggles in our lives and it's our job and no one else's to fight through them and find ways to make ourselves happy.

Winter Wedding Makeup!

I love my job! Doing makeup really is my passion and gives me so much joy in life. Yesterday I got the opportunity to do some bridal make for a beautiful bride named Amanda, her mother and a couple of her bridesmaids. And although the morning started off a little rough with some choppy road conditions, it ended up being such a beautiful day! The day was just so full of love for the bride and everyone ended up looking so beautiful and loving their makeup. It just makes me remember why I love doing my job so much. Anyways here are pics of the mother of the bride and a couple of the bridesmaids. I apologize for not having a picture of the bride but when your trying to rush her out to her wedding, sometimes you forget (I always forget!lol.). I will be posting pics as soon as I get them from the bride!

50 Shades of Grey Collections!

If you were just as obsessed with 50 Shades of Grey as I was, I know you cant wait for the movie to hit theaters on Valentines Day. I just cant wait for Christian Grey to be brought to life, because you know that we all wish he was real (sigh, swoon!). Anyways, as excited as I am about the movie I am just as excited about the 50 Shade collections that have been released. Makeup Forever really went in and released 3 separate makeup sets for their collection; a blush set, a lip set, and an eye and lip set, and they all come with their own 50 shades keepsakes. OPI released a 6 piece nail polish set for the film and the names for all of them are so appropriate, including My Silk Tie, Romantically Involved, and my personal favorite Cement the Deal. And finally Bobbi Brown released her Bobbi's Shades of Grey collection which includes 4 shadows, 1 cream shadow, and a gel liner. Hopefully all this Grey goodness can hold you over for the next 3 weeks. All products are linked down below!

Confidence Tip Tuesday - Be Silly!

I am at a point in my life where I am trying to find happiness. I am trying to figure out who I am, what makes me happy, and what I want to do in life. And yes, I am 27 and still figuring things out for myself, but we as individuals are always changing, and trying to find our way through life. We all have our own journey. So, I wanted to start this series because 1. I want to be good to myself and find ways to make me feel good about myself and 2. hopefully help you be good to yourself. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own thoughts about ourselves and what others may think of us, and that only brings negativity; it only brings us down. We need to remember to love ourselves and be happy and content with ourselves. I know ,I know, it's easier said than done. Trust me, I'm an over-thinker! I over think everything, and I've come to find that it only makes me second guess myself and bring me down. So with this series, every week I will share my confidence tips that I plan on incorporating into my daily life. Little changes that don't seem like much but make a big impact on how you feel.

So my first confidence tip is to just be silly. Make funny faces and take silly selfies, jam out in your car, or have an impromptu dance party, just make yourself laugh. I love being silly. Its one of the things I know I'm good at. Even if people think I'm weird, I don't care. It's not about what others think, it's about how you feel. And being silly is contagious, it makes others come out of their shell and be silly too.

Little changes in how you think really can make a big difference. I know my journey to find happiness wont be easy. It's hard to break negative habits and start fresh, but I believe if you truly want to be happy you will find ways to be happy.I hope you enjoy this series and take something from it. I will continue to find new ways to love myself and share them with you.

Stay Naughty!;)

2015 Makeup Resolution - Makeup Rotation

If you are a makeup collector, like myself, you know how hard it is to actually use all the makeup that you have. You also know how hard it is to change up your makeup routine once you've found products you like and that work for you. That is why one of my makeup resolutions is to incorporate new products (some I haven't even opened since I've bought them. Oops!) every so often into my daily makeup routine. I figured it'd be a great way to get inspired and get out of my current makeup rut. So I sat down, rummaged through my collection, and picked a little bit of everything.

Concealer/Powder
NYX HD Concealer - Glow (CW06)
Jordana Forever Flawless Pressed Powder - Light Honey (106)

I recently ran out of my Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer (which is my all time, holy grail concealer) and my NYX Matte Loose Setting Powder which I was using to set my concealer. I am very picky when it comes to concealers but I am curious to see about the NYX HD Concealer because everyone raves about it and I figured why not give it a shot. The setting powder I was using was alright but it sometimes gave a white cast in photos and I am not about that life. I've had these Jordana powders in my kit for a while and I really like the natural skin-like finish of them so I'm hoping for less crazy undereyes.

Lippies
Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lipstick - Currant (84)
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick- Lickable
NYX Matte Lipstick - Aria (MLS30)
Lorac Pro Matte Lip Color - Merlot
JCat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint - Red Potion (WLP111)

I've said before that I love lipstick so when it came to picking them I couldn't just pick one. I mean, that's just impossible. So the colors I did pick are all pretty vampy ones. I am definitely not scared to rock a dark lip and I feel like I haven't in a while. I also threw in a bright pink in the mix just to keep things interesting.

Blush
MAC Matte Blush - Desert Rose
Revlon Blush - Wine Not (004)

So lately all I've been wearing is Nars blush in Oasis which is my obsession, I have a blog post dedicated to it, so its about time I break out and try some others. I bought Wine Not because Carlibel on YouTube had used it several times in her videos (YouTube made me buy it! Story of my life!) and I thought Desert Rose would be a nice everyday color.

Highlighters
Maybelline Master Glaze - Nude Rebellion (201)
Laura Gellar Baked Body Frosting - Tahitian Glow
Victoria's Secret Bronze Glow Luminous Bronzer- Bronzed Beauty

This category is probably the one I needed to change the most. I've been wearing MAC's MSF in Gold Deposit for way too long, but it is seriously my perfect highlight. But now I've put her back in my makeup drawer and making room for 3 that seem promising. I even added a cream highlight because I never use them.

Eyeliner/Mascara
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner - Intense Black
Maybelline Master Drama Chromatics - Turn on the Teal (445)
Bare Minerals Lash Domination

I'm nervous about the Stila liquid liner because I am so used to my Maybelline Line Stiletto, which is another holy grail product for me. Usually when I try a new liquid liner I'll use it for about 2 weeks and then go right back to the Line Stiletto, but I'm going to keep an open mind about this one. The mascara I've just recently introduced into my routine and I'm liking it so far so we'll see if I end up loving it.

Eye Shadow
Sonia Kashuk - Eye on Neutrals Matte Eye Shadow Palette (02)
Loreal Infallible Eye Shadow- Eternal Black (999)
Makeup Geek Pigment - Enchanted

As makeup collectors we all know that you can never have too many eye shadow options. I really needed to switch up my transition shadows because I cant use NYX Dance the Tides forever. Well, I mean, I could but I recently broke mine and though I'm devastated I took that as a sign to try a different one and the Sonia Kashuk palette seemed perfect. It has a lot of neutral shades most off which are transition shades. The Makeup Geek pigments are just so amazing and Enchanted is a gorgeous fruity purple color with lots of shimmer. As for the black, I never wear black, but this one is different because it can really be sheared out. I want to use it as a shadow topper or highlight for the middle of the lid because it has the most amazing gunmetal grey glitter in it.

I'm actually really excited to try these products, and I hope this inspires you to go through your collection and try some things out. You never know, you could find a diamond in the rough or a new holy grail product.

Gratis Goodies

If your a makeup junkie like me you know that free makeup is always the best kind  of makeup!lol. Got some really good gratis during our Bare Minerals training yesterday! I was actually really impressed at the performance of all of these products! All will be linked below!

(Left: Confidence, Right: Witty)

I am a swatcher! I love swatching any and all makeup! And I love swooning over different colors and textures, and when I swatched these on my hand I fell in love! The color was just so pigmented and creamy! Confidence is definitely favorite! It's that classic mauvey pink that everyone (including myself) is loving right now! Witty is a really beautiful mauvey, browny, red shade! I don't think I really have a color like this in my collection so I'm excited to try it out! I did wear Confidence for the day yesterday after the training and I will say that these are very creamy and actually pretty hydrating! Even after most of the pigment was gone my lips didn't feel dry! As for staying power these are so-so! These colors don't dry down to a matte finish like a lot of lip lacquers do so they don't last as long on the lips! I don't think these are available in store but if you click the link above you can get them on sale for $9.50! (origanlly $16)

(Rose Gold)

I cant get enough of this color! Let me first say that I am just obsessed with rose gold! The pigmentation of this shadow is on point and the texture is extremely buttery! It is one of those shadows with the pop out sponge tip applicator and I found that it was easy to use and deposited the color really nicely! There was some fallout under my eyes but that's nothing a makeup wipe cant fix! Through out the day the color didn't fade, it stayed nice and vibrant and metallic! This is definitely favorite out of all the gratis I recieved yesterday! And like the lip colors these also aren't sold in store but again if you click the link you can also get these for $9.50! (origanlly $16)

Everyone is different when it comes to mascara! I am a girl that likes a lot of separation and length and just a little bit of volume, but not too much! I use to be a clumpy, thick mascara girl but I grew out of that! Anyways, I was excited to get this because I wanted to try it out but I just didn't want to spend the money on it! I mean, its only $20 but Im just like that with all high end mascaras! I wore this today as well, but not by itself! I used it on top of my Rimmel Lash Accelerator, which is my all time favorite, holy grail base coat mascara! I enjoyed the formula, it wasn't too wet or dry! I really liked the volume it gave to my lashes not to much but just enough! I like the spiral wand of it too! I don't really knows if it makes a difference but I did like it!

So overall I think I got some really nice products! I'm still waiting on them to send us the Complexion Rescue foundation but until then I have some fun new goodies to play around with!

New Bare Minerals - Complexion Rescue

Probably my favorite part about working for Ulta is going to training's! When a brand comes out with a new product launch we go to these training's to learn about the products and ways to sell them! A lot of the time we are also given the products as gratis to try for ourselves!Todays training was for Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream! Unfortunately we weren't able to receive this today (but it is on its way and I will be testing it out and writing a review on my thoughts asap), but we were able to play with the product, see it in action and learn some key points!

I will say that I am not a Bare Minerals girl! Don't get me wrong, I do think that Bare Minerals has stand out products; I love their concealers, lipsticks, and their 5 in 1 cream shadows! But when it comes to foundation and coverage I'm just not a natural girl! I like a full coverage, beat face! Always! But after learning about the product I am intrigued to try it out! The main point to take away from Complexion Rescue is it's going to hydrate and replenish the skin, which is perfect for this time of year because even us oily girls are getting dry these days! It is proven to increase hydration and also improve skin texture! Now, I really don't have texture issues when it comes to my skin but I am curious to see if I feel a noticeable difference! This product is also free of oils, parabens, fragrance, is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, and contains a mineral SPF of 30 so it should be great for those with sensitive skin! Me, myself, I am not sensitive at all! I can really put anything on my face and be fine! And lastly it has a light to medium coverage and is avaiable in 10 shades, which isn't a lot for Bare Minerals considering all of their foundations come in 20 shades!

We were also able to swatch and see a live demo of this product which is always beneficial because then you can really get a feel of how the product performs! Swatched on the hand this definitely felt like a gel cream formula, very light and blendable! It also had a slight cooling sensation which is supposed to be calming to the skin! For the demo, they applied it in 2 different ways; one side with the fingers and the other with the new Smoothing Face brush which will also be featured in this launch! The Smoothing Face Brush is a domed shaped duo fiber stippling brush! I think I'm most excited about the brush! I just think that the domed shape of the brush will be great for more flawless blending for lighter foundations as opposed to traditional flat top stippling brushes! I personally don't believe in putting on foundation with your fingers! It just doesn't make sense to me, and honestly the product didn't look as nice using the fingers! It looked like it was just sitting on top of the skin! With the brush, the product blended in seamlessly and the finish gave a very natural skin-like finish! Natural but not a "I literally have nothing on my face!" natural! I was also impressed by how nicely buildable it was! Still natural, just with a more flawless, radiant naturalness (if that's even a word!lol)! They even demoed using the product as a cream contour! Again, very natural, seamless, no obvious lines, and blended very nicely!

Other points made about Complexion Rescue were that you could use it underneath your current foundation to give you a little boost of hydration and coverage and that you could also use it as a moisturizer! I think that this would look great under a light to medium coverage foundation but I never recommend using makeup as moisturizer! Makeup does not substitute skincare, so you should always moisturize before applying makeup!

I hope you enjoyed reading about what I learned today and I hope it helped you decide whether or not you would try this product! Complexion Rescue will be available in store and online by the end of this month! I am patiently waiting to recieve mine and I will keep you updated with a full, in depth review after I've played with it, so stay on the lookout for that in a future post!

Stay Naughty! ;)

New Youtube Loves!

If you know me, you know that I love Youtube! It's actually an obsession! If I'm not at work or working on a blog post, you better believe that I'm watching Youtube! Recently on days that noone is really uploading videos I'll browse through my recommended videos and see if anyone interests me! I mean everyone knows about the O.G.'s of Youtube (Jaclyn Hill, Nicole Guerriero, Dulce Candy, Carli Bybel) and if you don't you need to get on that, but I love finding new people and personalities to watch! And some of these people may not have the most subscribers but that doesn't matter to me, it's about the content! What I love about these youtubers is that they are all so talented, and they really focus on the artistry and technique of doing makeup! Don't get me wrong, I love watching hauls and reviews and things like that but I love when I actually learn something new that i can apply to my own makeup or to others! So, I have 4 youtubers I want to talk about and I will link their  youtube names so there is no reason for you to not follow them! You wont regret that you did!

I actually found this girl on Instagram! I just remember seeing a look she did with glitter and I literally DIED! This girl is so amazingly talented at what she does and shes just so cute with her little British accent! Ugh! I love it! And I mean she's just so stunning! #thoseeyesthough

Youtube:PatrickStarrr

I found Patrick through Manny Mua (who I also will be talking about) when they recently collabed on a Christmas tutorial video! He is just so fabulous and full of life! I love watching him cause he just makes you feel happy! And he always comes at you with a full on glamour beat face which I love!

Youtube:Sonjdradeluxe

First off lets just get this out of the way, this girl is GORGEOUS! Like, can I have your face please?
What i like about her is that her videos are short but they still show technique if that makes any sense! And I like that she's kind of shy but her personality really shines through!

Youtube:Manny Mua

Last, but certainly not least, is Manny! He is just so genuine and so real! He's silly and honest! i just love him so much! And I like that he really tries to step out of the box and use color but in a very wearable way!

Well girls, those are some of my favorite youtubers at the moment! Let me know which ones you watch and that I should be following!

Lip Salvation!

Hello Naughty Girls!
So I don't know where you are in the world, but where I am it is FREEZING! For the past couple of weeks the weather has been really strange (even going up to 60 degrees), but now it is definitely feeling like winter! And with the winter comes dry, cracked, peeling lips! I'm sorry if that sounds gross but that's the truth! Ya'll know it! Now my lips started betraying me early on in the fall but thankfully I found something that worked to heal my sad lip cushions!

First, there is the Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant! Now I know that I could easily make a lip exfoliator at home but this stuff is my baby! I use this everyday, twice a day! This contains Tarte's signature Maracuja oil to moisturize and promote hydration and raw sugar, antioxidants, and Vitamin C to naturally exfoliate! I'll usually just take a small amount on my finger and then rub it all over my lips for about a minute or so (or until it completely dissolves, depending on how dry my lips are feeling) and then wipe it off with a tissue!

Next, I use the Too Faced La Creme Lip Balm in Like Buttah! Let me just say that I am a lip balm freak! I have so many it's ridiculous! And I always end up losing them and then magically finding them again! I know ya'll do that too!lol. Anyways, this balm contains white lotus flower extract and black currant seed oil to help condition the lips and Hylaronic Filling Spheres to keep the lips hydrated! What I really like about this lip balm is that it has a thicker texture to it, but it's not too thick that it feels like its just sitting on top of the lips! It kind of reminds me of the Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip balms but just slightly less thick and more nourishing and moisturizing!

So there you have my winter lip recovery routine! Try it out and let me know how it works for you! And I pray that your lips find some salvation from the cold, dry months ahead!

Stay Naughty!;)
